You are only allowed to consume alcohol purchased at one of the beverage stores or restaurants. You must be 21 or older to treat yourself. This isn't the same as an open container law, said City Attorney David Davidson. Customers are not allowed to drink alcohol while out in public.
The second element varies depending on the situation. It may be that the container is open, as in the case of a beer can. The seal may be broken, such as when you open a wine bottle with a screw cap. Or it may be that the content has been partially removed. Any of these three situations, together with the content being an alcoholic beverage, can result in an open bottle load.
It is illegal in the state of Georgia and in the cities of Roswell and Alpharetta to have an open container of alcohol in the vehicle while driving.
